HOW TO PREPARE NIGERIAN FRIED RICE

          Fried rice is made from steamed rice stir-fried in a wok, Nigerian fried rice is very simple yet delicious recipe,While you have decided to make a delicious fried rice make sure to use  fresh veggies.These veggies brings out the goodness on this recipe,Its colorfulness also adds to the sweetness. Chicken or Turkey stock is also a must for Nigerian fried rice,make sure you have any of it available. Also note that.

       There are many popular varieties of fried rice, each with its own specific list of ingredients. You can make fried with proteins like, (egg,beef,liver,shrimp,Chicken,Gizzard) etc. Commonly,Nigerian uses  beef in their fried rice. But trust me all of these proteins can be added if you like,below are the list of ingredients in preparing fried rice;

INGREDIENTS:

-6 cups of rice

-Carrot

-Sweetcorn

-Green beans

-Green pepper

-Bell pepper 

-Thyme and curry

-Liver/Gizzard/beef/shrimps

-Onions

-Garlic

-Nutmeg

-groundnut oil

-Seasoning 

-Butter

-Chicken/turkey

-Salt to taste.

METHOD OF PREPARATION:

-Cut and wash chicken or turkey,put in pot add salt,seasoning,curry and thyme,water,sliced onions.

-Covered till well cooked(make sure to reserve the chicken or turkey stock).

-parboil your rice and sieve the water.

-remove the chicken or turkey from the pot,leave the water and the ingredients.

-Pour the rice into the chicken or turkey stock,cook and make it quarter done.

-Dice your veggies and proteins(carrot,green pepper,green beans,Bell pepper,sweetcorn,beef,liver,shrimps,gizzard) and fry in separate pot of oil mixed with butter.

- pour your veggies and protein inside the pot of rice,then you stir fry for few mins.

- FOOD IS READY.


NOTES: Be careful with salt and seasoning,most times the chicken or turkey stock is enough for the cooking. Unless you taste to feel it needs more seasoning or salt.

- Fresh veggies is advisable,you get the great taste of your delicious fried rice.
